|[Intro]
Help me polarize, help me polarize, help me down
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Those stairs is where I'll be hidin' all my problems
Help me polarize, help me polarize, help me out
My friends and I, we got a lot of problems

[Verse 1]

[Verse 1]
We don't believe what's on TV

You know where I'm coming from
Because it's what we want to see

Though I am running to you
And what we want we know we can't believe

All I feel is deny, deny, denial
We have all learned to kill our dreams

[Pre-Chorus]
[Pre-Chorus]

I wanted to be a better brother, better son
I need to know

Wanted to be a better adversary to the evil I have done
That when I fail, you'll still be here, mm

I have none to show to the one I love
'Cause if you stick around, I'll sing you pretty sounds

But deny, deny, denial
And we'll make money selling your hair

[Chorus]
[Chorus]

Help me polarize, help me polarize, help me down
I don't care what's in your hair

Those stairs is where I'll be hidin' all my problems
I just wanna know what's on your mind

Help me polarize, help me polarize, help me out
I used to say, "I wanna die before I'm old"

My friends and I, we got a lot of problems
But because of you, I might think twice

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

[Verse 2]
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Polarize is taking your disguises

Separating 'em, splitting 'em up from wrong and right
[Interlude]

It's deciding where to die and deciding where to fight
Alright, second verse

Deny, deny, denial

[Verse 2]

[Pre-Chorus]
What if my dream does not happen?

I wanted to be a better brother, better son
Would I just change what I've told my friends?

Wanted to be a better adversary to the evil I have done
Don't want to know who I would be

I have none to show to the one I love
When I wake up from a dreamer's sleep

But deny, deny, denial

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]
I need to know

Help me polarize, help me polarize, help me down
That when I fail, you'll still be here, oh

Those stairs is where I'll be hidin' all my problems
'Cause if you stick around, I'll sing you pretty sounds

Help me polarize, help me polarize, help me out
And we'll make money selling your hair

My friends and I, we got a lot of problems

[Chorus]

[Refrain]
But I don't care what's in your hair

Ah-da-da, da-da, da-da da-da
I just wanna know what's on your mind

Ah-da-da, da-da, we have problems
I used to say I wanna die before I'm old

Ah-da-da, da-da, da-da da-da
But because of you, I might think twice

Ah-da-da, da-da, we have problems
I don't care what's in your hair

I just wanna know what's on your mind

[Bridge]
I used to say I wanna die before I'm old

Domingo en fuego
But because of you, I might think twice

I think I lost my halo

I don't know where you are
[Outro]

You'll have to come and find me, find me
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh!

I think I lost my halo

[Intro]

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

[Verse 1]

We don't believe what's on TV

Because it's what we want to see

And what we want we know we can't believe

We have all learned to kill our dreams

[Pre-Chorus]

I need to know

That when I fail, you'll still be here, mm

'Cause if you stick around, I'll sing you pretty sounds

And we'll make money selling your hair

[Chorus]

I don't care what's in your hair

I just wanna know what's on your mind

I used to say, "I wanna die before I'm old"

But because of you, I might think twice

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

[Interlude]

Alright, second verse

[Verse 2]

What if my dream does not happen?

Would I just change what I've told my friends?

Don't want to know who I would be

When I wake up from a dreamer's sleep

[Pre-Chorus]

I need to know

That when I fail, you'll still be here, oh

'Cause if you stick around, I'll sing you pretty sounds

And we'll make money selling your hair

[Chorus]

But I don't care what's in your hair

I just wanna know what's on your mind

I used to say I wanna die before I'm old

But because of you, I might think twice

I don't care what's in your hair

I just wanna know what's on your mind

I used to say I wanna die before I'm old

But because of you, I might think twice

[Outro]

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh!

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Lyrics meaning

Lyrics
“Tear in My Heart” is the second single from Twenty One Pilots' fourth studio album, Blurryface. Inspired by Tyler Joseph’s wife, Jenna Joseph, the song details the importance of their relationship.

“Tear in My Heart” is the only song from the album not to feature Blurryface, who is a character representing the protagonists fears and anxieties. This fact may insinuate that Jenna protects him from Blurryface.[1]
